Selecting:
When selecting, choose those that are full and round. This is a very delicate fruit and should be handled carefully.
Select only those that look firm, plump and display vibrant color, avoiding those that are bruised, broken or moldy. Also check the container they are in. It should be dry and show no staining, indicating the berries have broken.
Raspberries do not ripen after picking so choose the freshest you can find to enjoy their wonderful flavor.
Storing and Handling:
This berry variety is very perishable and sensitive to freezing. They should be refrigerated and it is important that they are stored at the proper temperature in your refrigerator.
Do not wash the berries until you are ready to serve them because any moisture on the berries will speed up their decay.
When stored properly, they will last one to two days.
Preparing Raspberries:
Wash thoroughly but gently under cool running water. Carefully spread them out on a towel to dry.
