A four ingredient ham salad sandwich recipe that couldn't be easier.

4 Ingredients Needed:

cooked ham (off the bone or slices) - 2 cups small dice

celery - 1 cup small dice

water chestnuts - 3/4 cup (cut each piece in half)

* mayonnaise - 3/4 cup or to desired moistness


*Reduce the Fat: Use a low-fat or nonfat mayonnaise.

Make Ahead:
- If cooking your ham, prepare as you desire and dice up 2 cups

Light and Easy Meal Ideas:

** Serve our ham salad as a sandwich spread on dark rye bread with a simple lettuce salad on the side and carrot sticks.

** For a a very simple meal serve this quick salad scooped inside quartered tomatoes with slices of peeled oranges and pineapple chunks on the side.

** Another easy way to serve our ham salad, is scooped into an avocado half with a sprinkling of parmesan cheese over the top and soft Italian breadsticks on the side.

** Try serving this quick ham salad on a bed of watercress with whole grain crackers on the side.

** Ham Salad Lettuce Wrap: Simply scoop the ham salad into bibb leaf lettuce leaves (these work especially well because of their shape and soft structure) and, if desired, top with Swiss or Gouda cheese slices and fresh sprouts. Roll up lettuce leaves and serve along with baked potato chips.

*Green or Red Grapes - 1/2 cup (cut each grape in half) or

*Dill or Sweet Pickles - 1/2 cup chopped or
*Jalapeno Peppers - 1/4 to 1/2 cup chopped (as desired)
