Grape Salad Recipe


This grape salad recipe is as simple to make as it looks but has a flavor that can't be beat. Combining grapes, celery, sour cream, avocado and a hint of nutmeg creates a taste so good you'll come back to this sweet and creamy fruit salad again and again.

The easy menu planner will give you some great quick meal ideas.

5 Ingredients Needed:

grapes (red or green) - 2 cups
(cut each grape in half)

celery - 1 cup diced

sour cream - 1/2 cup or to desired moistness

avocado - 1 avocado(cut in chunks, slices or
sliced in half with skin removed)

ground nutmeg - 1/4 tsp

1. In a bowl, combine the grapes, celery, sour cream and nutmeg.

2. Adjust the sour cream to taste and moistness.

3. Save the avocado and add as desired using suggestions below in the menu planner.

** Serve grape salad scooped into avocado halves or you can add the avocado, cut into cubes, to the salad and serve scooped into pear halves drizzled with lemon juice with cheese breadsticks on the side.

** Serve this creamy fruit salad over slices of avocado drizzled with lemon juice on top of salad greens along with whole grain crackers and slices of cheddar cheese.

** Serve this easy grape salad recipe with the avocado cut into chunks, added to salad and served in bibb leaf lettuce cups with bagel chips or baked potato chips on the side.

**As a Quick Meal Idea: serve this quick fruit salad (with chunked avocado added) on top of a bed of warm couscous.

Ingredient Exchanges:

Instead of Celery:
*Carrots - 1 cup grated or
*Jicama - 1 cup grated or
*Apple - 1 cup diced

Instead of Sour Cream:
*Yogurt - 1/2 cup or
*Mayonnaise - 1/2 cup or
*Lemon Juice - 1 tbsp or to taste (make sure the fruit is covered with the lemon juice)

Instead of Nutmeg:
*Ground Cinnamon - 1/4 tsp or
*Ground Ginger - 1/4 tsp or
*Pecans - 1/4 cup chopped

Ingredient Additions:
*Cheese - 1/2 cup small chunks (feta or goat cheese)
(these cheeses add a nice salty flavor and compliment the sweetness of the grapes and avocado)
