French Dressing

This is a very basic French dressing with only two ingredients and leaves plenty of room for your own unique additions to dress it up any way you like. You can make it as simple or as complex as you like and it’s always good.

Yield: approx. 1/2 cup

2 Ingredients Needed:

fresh squeezed lemon juice – 2 tbsp

olive oil – 6 tbsp


Try the following *additions to add a little extra flavor to this quick dressing. Use these ideas as a springboard for your own special additions.

*Additions:
1 clove of garlic crushed
fresh chives – 1/2 - 1 tbsp chopped
fresh parsley – 1/2 - 1 tbsp chopped
sweet cream – 1 tsp or to taste

Place all ingredients in a small bowl and whisk until everything is combined completely.

**Quick Tip: To speed preparation, place all ingredients into a small jar, screw on lid and shake until everything is completely combined.

Quick Salad Ideas - Salad Dressing Serving Suggestions:

Green Salad Dressing:

** Serve our easy French dressing over a green salad like easy salad recipe substituting this dressing for the store bought brand.

Vegetable Marinade:

** Use this quick salad dressing as a marinade for vegetables. Simply place a variety of cut up vegetables (for example: carrots, celery, cucumber, sweet red peppers and yellow peppers) in a covered glass bowl or jar with a lid and cover vegetables with the dressing. Allow to marinate for a few hours or overnight in the refrigerator. Toss occasionally. You could also use this quick dressing as a marinade for meat or fish prior to cooking.

Pasta Dressing:

** This simple dressing makes a great dressing for a warm or cold pasta dish. Just toss the cooked pasta of choice with the dressing, as desired, and add a grating of fresh parmesan cheese over the top. Serve with warm garlic bread and you have a quick and easy pasta meal.
